S.A.F.E. stands for Student Activities and Family Events. We help families fill young people’s free time with connection, character and opportunity.
Our reason
A practical idea with a serious purpose.
When parents can quickly find safe, affordable ways for children to learn, move, compete, create and belong, those hours become protection against isolation, gangs, street activity and other negative influences.
S.A.F.E. Rockford began its online resource work in 2016. The original directory connected people to sports, recreation, education, pantries, shelters and local events until COVID interrupted operations.
Our service has also lived offline: a free Fairgrounds Park food event in 2017 and Swish Fest youth basketball competition in 2023. This rebuilt platform brings those pieces together for 2026 and beyond.
